For two-weeks in September La Pocha Nostra was in residency at San Francisco’s legendary Fort Mason Center leading an international performance workshop that culminated in a public performance on Saturday, September 13th. The performance was structured in two-parts: Part one included a live “photo karaoke” session in collaboration with maestro RJ Muna in which artists and audience members created live images on-site for the camera. Part two included an “extreme fashion show” featuring the work of the participants that had been developed during the residency. Core Pocha members Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Saul Garcia-López & Dani d’Emilia collaborated with choreographer Esther Baker-Tarpaga, photographer RJ Muna, Pinina Flanders & a selection of artists from the US, Brazil & Australia * Official Images of the event coming out soon.
